Answer

  • The scope of CIFS audit settings is SVMs, so if a SnapMirror destination volume belonging to the relevant SVM has audit enabled, CIFS audit works the same as normal volume.
  • SnapMirror destination volume is read only, so it is not possible to enable file and directory auditing afterwards.
  • If the file and directory auditing settings are enabled on a SnapMirror source volume, audit settings are also carried over to its destination volume.
