Creating CIFS server after deleting an old one fails with "Reason: duplicate entry"

Issue

  • The following errors might occurs after deleting an old CIFS server and creating a new CIFS server.
  • Failed to create CIFS server "SVM". Reason: Failed to create a domain entry for "AD". Reason: duplicate entry. Use the (privilege: advanced) "vserver cifs users-and-groups remove-stale-records" command to clean up all the stale local user and group entries for the Vserver and try to create CIFS server again.
  • Error: command failed: Failed to create CIFS server <SVM>. Reason: Cannot add "<domain>\Domain Admins" to group "BUILTIN\Administrators". Reason: duplicate entry.
