Cannot modify CIFS server name after 7MTT - Unable to contact DNS

Issue

  • Cannot change CIFS server name as DNS cannot be contacted.
  • DNS cannot communicate with domain controllers to perform the operation.
 
Audit log:
 
vserver cifs modify -vserver <vserver> -cifs-server <cifs server name> -domain <domain> -ou <organizational unit> :: Error: Failed to create the Active Directory machine account "machine account". Reason: Unable to contact DNS.
 
EMS errors:
