After Linux kernel update, NFS is slow with many extra denied ACCESS calls

Issue

  • After updating Linux kernel version on NFS client host, it takes much longer than normal to access files over NFS
  • A packet trace trace shows that the NFS client with the newer kernel version is making many more ACCESS calls than that the NFS client with the older kernel version, and that many of the ACCESS calls are denied.
