Brocade switch shows Power Supply is faulty

Issue

  • Single PSU switch does not power up
  • Amber light or no link lights displayed on the switch PSU
  • psshow shows the PSU is faulty.

Switch:admin> psshow

Power Supply #1 is OK
Airflow Dierction : Non-portside Exhaust (Forward)
Power Supply #2 is faulty
Airflow Dierction : Non-portside Exhaust (Forward)

  • fanshow can indicate faulty FAN despite PSU being OK
Switch:admin> psshow
Power Supply #1 is OK
Power Supply #2 is OK

Switch:admin> fanshow
Fan 1 is Ok, speed is 26667 RPM
Fan 2 is Faulty​​​

Cause


  1. The PSU was connected to a faulty power rail.
  2. The PSU is failed, provide part number and troubleshooting steps
