Applies to

  • Element Software version 12.0
  • Custom SSL certificates encoded via PKCS#1

Issue

Subsequent to installing a custom certificate encoded with PKCS#1, the cluster UI fails to load completely.

Specifically, the UI framework begins to load on the page, but one of the following conditions is present:

  • The individual widgets are populated with error messages (e.g., "Unable to load widget: API error "GetClusterStats: Authentication is not ready to service requests yet") rather than the typical cluster information
    • Example:

  • The widgets don't display and instead the following error displays: "We are having trouble communicating with your cluster. Error -3: Something went wrong. Unable to communicate with the Element Authentication Service"
