VDI Performance Degradation due to SolidFire Node Overutilization and QoS Pushback
Applies to
- SolidFire (Element OS 12.8 )
- NetApp HCI (H615C, H610S-4, H610S-2, H610S-1 nodes)
Issue
- The environment experiences severe performance degradation, with high storage-induced latencies observed on ESXi hosts. Analysis of SolidFire cluster logs and Active IQ shows multiple nodes consistently exceeding 150% utilization, triggering QoS pushback and node throttling mechanisms. As a result, VDI sessions become unresponsive or fail to launch.
