Applies to

  • SolidFire (Element OS 12.8 )
  • NetApp HCI (H615C, H610S-4, H610S-2, H610S-1 nodes)

Issue

  • The environment experiences severe performance degradation, with high storage-induced latencies observed on ESXi hosts. Analysis of SolidFire cluster logs and Active IQ shows multiple nodes consistently exceeding 150% utilization, triggering QoS pushback and node throttling mechanisms. As a result, VDI sessions become unresponsive or fail to launch.
  • Relevant Log Output:
Pushback on SliceService: 183
2025-11-10 01:40:35.175929 SSLoad: 53.5357
2025-11-10 01:43:35.208267 SSLoad: 55.1607
  • iSCSIEvent: iSCSI session count of 764 exceeds supported limit of 700 sessions per node
  • NodeIDX is running at 80.842 percent of full utilization for the last 60 minutes.
