Issue
Multiple SolidFire volumes connected to windows SQL server are reporting performance issue
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Analyze Volume Performance Metrics:
- Use Active IQ to review the reported volume’s throughput, IOPS, latency, queue depth and I/O size.
- Compare these metrics during the time of the reported issue with those from normal (non-issue) periods.
- Check Node Hosting the Volume:
- Identify the node hosting the primary copy of the reported volume in Active IQ.
- Investigate whether node-level throttling occurred around the time of the issue.
- Review Node Workload:
- Determine the busiest volume on the same node that hosts the reported volume primaries.
- Assess if this volume could be contributing to resource contention.
- Follow Active IQ Recommendations:
- Check if there are any Active IQ recommendations specific to the reported volume.
- Ensure all suggested actions or optimizations have been implemented.
