The error crypto.import.failed seen if your passphrase is incorrect

Issue

  • VMware console (VMRC) might alter the passphrase presented on boot.
  • Once the node is up your volumes might remain offline. In EMS you see:

crypto.import.failed: ERROR: Import of key with key ID <key> failed. Additional information: wrapping key not
found.

  • Backup verification works as expected ::> security key-manager onboard verify-backup
