ONTAP Select Cluster deployment fails at OVA upload due to missing vCenter content library permissions

Issue

  • Deployment of a new ONTAP Select cluster fails during the OVA upload step for all nodes. The error results in cluster creation rollback and deletion of nodes and mediator.
  • List of events from cluster creation to deletion:
NodeDeleteCompleted: Node "Node-01" delete complete on host
NodeVMNotFound: Node "Node-01" in cluster not found on any host. If the cluster has been reconfigured outside of ONTAP Select Deploy, run a refresh operation on the cluster, and then try the operation again.
ClusterDeployFailed: ClusterNodeCreateFailed: One of the node create operations failed while creating cluster 
NodeCreateFailed: FileUploadFailed: File upload failed for filename: DataONTAPv-9.17.1-vidconsole-esx.ova, node: Node-01 
ClusterNodesCreateInProgress: Creating cluster nodes. This operation may take up to two hours, depending on the response time of the virtualization environment.
ClusterDeployAccepted: Deployment request for cluster accepted.
  • From the "sdotadmin_server" Deploy autosupport logs:
com.vmware.vapi.std.errors_client.Unauthorized: {messages : [LocalizableMessage(id='com.vmware.vdcs.vsphere-auth-lib.permission.denied', default_message='Permission to perform this operation was denied.', args=[], params=None, localized=None)], data : None, error_type : UNAUTHORIZED}
