ONTAP Select Cluster Deploy Fails - cluster Management IP Not Reachable

Issue

  • Deployment of an ONTAP Select cluster fails.
  • The cluster management IP is only reachable from within the local ESXi host or VLAN, but not from remote locations (e.g., from the Deploy VM or headquarters).
  • The node management IP is reachable from all locations.
  • After about an hour, the deployment task fails and the ONTAP Select VM is removed automatically.
  • Other VMs on the same ESXi host/network do not have this issue.
  • Test deployment works in the same environment.
  • Error message :

    ClusterDeployFailed...ONTAPClusterCreateJoinOperationFailed:ONTAP cluster create failed during cluster join operation on cluster "cluster". Reason: Caused by ConnectionError(MaxRetryError("HTTPSConnectionPool(host='ip', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /api/private/cli/debug/smdb/table/cluster_create_join_progress?fields=status%2Ccurrent-task%2Ccomplete&privilege_level=admin (Caused by NewConnectionError(':Failed to establish a new connection: [Errno 113] No route to host'))"))
