ONTAP Select: Call home for MULTIPLE DISKS MISSING and HA failover

  • ONTAP Select (OTS)
  • OTS hosted on a physical ONTAP cluster
  • Update of underlaying physical ONTAP cluster

Issue

During an update of the underlaying ONTAP, or during a regular HA failover the following issue is seen on OTS:

  • AutoSupport of OTS reports  HA Group Notification (MULTIPLE DISKS MISSING) WARNING
  • A HA failover took place on OTS
  • The following error can be seen in the message log:

    Example :

    [config_thread: raid.vol.mirror.degraded:alert]: Aggregate partner:aggr_XX is mirrored and one plex has failed. It is no longer protected by mirroring.
    [config_thread: raid.config.filesystem.disk.missing:info]: File system Disk /aggrX/plexX/rgX/XX.XX S/N [XXXXXXXX] is missing.
    [config_thread: raid.vol.mirror.degraded:alert]: Aggregate local:aggrX is mirrored and one plex has failed. It is no longer protected by mirroring.
    [config_thread: callhome.syncm.plex:alert]: Call home for SYNCMIRROR PLEX FAILED
    [monitor: monitor.globalStatus.critical:EMERGENCY]: This node has taken over XXXXX. One or more mirrored aggregates are degraded.
    [config_failed_disk: callhome.disks.missing:error]: Call home for MULTIPLE DISKS MISSING
