  • VMware ESXi Host(s)
  • VMware vCenter Server

Issue

After an ONTAP Select Deploy and cluster upgrade, an attempt to refresh the cluster via the CLI fails with the following messages:

[Request xxxx (running) ] : Node storage pool information refresh failed for node "A". Reason: None.

Error type "NodeStoragePoolRefreshFailed". Description: “Node storage pool information refresh failed for node "<node_name". Reason: None”

  • When clicking on the cluster in the Deploy GUI, it shows no information.
  • When clicking on the Hypervisor Hosts tab in the Deploy GUI, it displays a message that the hosts were not found and shows the following:

"Error retrieving Host information"

  • When running the ‘host show’ command in Deploy CLI, it shows the proper entries
  • When running the ‘host remove’ command to remove and re-add the host(s), you receive the following:

Error type HostDeleteFailed. Description: “HostInUse: Host "<host_name>" is in use and cannot be modified”.

  • When using the ‘host modify’ command to modify existing entries, you receive the following:

Error type HostMgmtServerUpdateFailed. Description: “Failed to update management server of host "<host_name>". Reason: HostNotFound: Host "<host_name>" not found”.

  • NetApp ONTAP Select Deploy, cluster nodes, and ESXi hosts were migrated to a new VMware vCenter server in a different domain.
