MetroCluster Mediator add fails with “Node is not reachable or does not exist”

Issue

  • When attempting to add an ONTAP Mediator to a MetroCluster configuration, the following error is returned:
Error: command failed: Failed to add mediator. Node is not reachable or does not exist. Try again with a valid Mediator IP.
  • From ONTAP Mediator logs (error.log):
/opt/netapp/lib/ontap_mediator/tools/support_bundler/support_bundler.sh: line 338: apt: command not found
Modular dependency problems:
Problem 1: conflicting requests - nothing provides module(perl:5.26) needed by module perl-IO-Socket-SSL:...

Unit mediator.service could not be found.
