Failed plexes in MetroCluster and ISL ports down after switch RCF update

Issue

  • After the switch RCF update, the ISL ports are down
  • ONTAP Health monitoring reporting one or multiple plexes have failed: 
cluster:> system health alert show
               Node: cluster-01
           Resource: aggr1
           Severity: Major
    Indication Time: XXX XXX XX XX:XX:XX XXXX
           Suppress: false
        Acknowledge: false
     Probable Cause: Mirrored aggregate aggr1 has a failed plex.
    Possible Effect: DR protection of backend storage is compromised.
 Corrective Actions: If a plex failed:
                     1) Ensure that the ISLs are healthy if the configuration includes fabric switches.
                     2) Locate the problematic shelf and address any issues if seen.
                     3) Check if any disks are broken by using the command
                     "storage disk show -container-type broken".
