Applies to

  • Fabric MetroCluster
  • ONTAP 9
  • Headswap from AFF-A300 to AFF-A400
  • Headswap from AFF-A700/FAS9000 to AFF-A900/FAS9500

Issue

  • After finalizing the first switchback after completing the headswap for the first site in the MetroCluster, switchover simulations fail

Example:

ClusterA::*> metrocluster operation show
       Operation: switchover-simulate
           State: failed
      Start Time: 2/19/2022 22:19:52
        End Time: 2/19/2022 22:19:57
          Errors: Failed to validate the node and cluster components before the switchover operation.
                  ClusterB::ClusterB-01 (non-overridable veto): DR partner NVLog mirroring is not online.
                  ClusterB::ClusterB-02 (non-overridable veto): DR partner NVLog mirroring is not online.

  • DR mirroring is also reported to be offline despite the FCVI device status being 'up'
