iSCSI LUN size reduction causes virtual machine startup failure

Issue

  • After reducing the size of an iSCSI LUN on the storage system, the virtual machine connected to this LUN fails to start. 
  • The following steps were performed before the issue occurred:
    • The volume size (XXX) was changed using the GUI.
    • The LUN size was reduced using the following commands:

::> lun resize -vserver XXX -path /vol/XXX/XXX -size XXXG -force

 
  • Immediately after the operation, the following alert was triggered:
