System does not boot when adding NVMe/FC namespace to /etc/fstab

Issue

  • After adding NVMe/FC namespace as mount point to /etc/fstab in RHEL 9.2 the host does not boot, entering emergency mode:

UUID=a65508ee-665e-44cb-8a48-e490f8486b41 /app1_data ext4 defaults 0 0

  • /etc/fstab entry has to be commented out in single user mode to allow the system to boot
  • Namespace can be mounted fine when system is booted
