ONTAP Upgrade Paused Due to an orphaned SAN initiator

Issue

During an ONTAP upgrade to version 9.17.1, the upgrade process pauses with an error:

Details:

Status: Paused – Error occurred during "ONTAP updates" phase. 
The upgrade is halted until all issues are resolved. Use `cluster image resume-update` once resolved.
