ONTAP SAN SCSI errors in new ESXi setup with iSCSI connection

Issue

  • During initial setup of VMware ESXi with ONTAP iSCSI targets SCSI errors are encountered
  • Changing the VMware path selection policy (PSP) to fixed failover policy prevented further errors
  • VMware host virtual switch iSCSI vmkernel port has two vmnic uplink ports configured in active /active teaming and failover policy
