Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • FlexClone volume containing LUN

Issue

  • A volume can be FlexCloned using the parameter -space-guarantee none when there is no aggregate free space.
  • However, even after freeing up the aggregate space, the LUN within the volume still cannot be created due to the following errors, which occur almost simultaneously:

monitor.volume.full: Volume <vol_name> is full (using or reserving 100% of space and 0% of inodes).
LUN.vol.proc.fail.no.space: Processing for LUNs in volume <vol_name> failed due to lack of space.
