LUN creation fails due to aggregate selection constraints and insufficient space

Issue

  • When attempting to create a new 60TB LUN on an ASA-A90 system, the following error is reported:
lun create -vserver s****3 -path /vol/******_2 -size 60TB -ostype vmware -class regular -igroup T*********p
[Job 36118] Job is running.
Error: command failed: No suitable storage can be found for the specified requirements.
Aggregates of nodes not satisfying LIF requirements: da*****1, da*****1
Aggregates with insufficient space available for provisioning: da*******1, da*******1 
  • MGWD logs show below events being reported.
Aggregate "da******1" does not have sufficient space available for provisioning. Required: 15TB (16492674416640 bytes). Available: 12.24TB (13457748717568 bytes).
Aggregate "da******1" does not have sufficient space available for provisioning. Required: 15TB (16492674416640 bytes). Available: 13.22TB (14535798878208 bytes).
