Answer

  • It is mandatory to install HUK on AIX host to add the NetApp ODM to enable Native MPIO for NetApp LUNs.
  • Without HUK, the LUN might be discovered with multiple disks in the host. If we assign 4 path to one LUN from storage end, post mapped the same to host, it might show the same LUN with 4 different hdisk number.
