Issue

  • Few LUNs showing 2paths instead of 4 on linux host.
  • The variation in path counts for the same host is seen below:

Expected: 4 paths
Observed: 2 paths

2 path
|-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=50 status=active
| `- 2:0:0:xx sdao 66:128  active ready running
`-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=10 status=enabled
`- 9:0:0:xx sdcn 69:176  active ready running
4 path
|-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=50 status=active
| `- 7:0:0:xx sdcw 70:64   active ready running
`-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=10 status=enabled
|- 4:0:0:xx sdy  65:128  active ready running
|- 6:0:0:xx sdbf 67:144  active ready running
`- 5:0:0:xx sdcl 69:144  active ready running

2 path
|-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=50 status=active
| `- 3:0:0:xx sdaj 66:48  active ready running
`-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=10 status=enabled
`- 7:0:0:xx sdl  8:176  active ready running
4 path
|-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=50 status=active
| `- 6:0:0:x  sdg  8:96   active ready running
`-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=10 status=enabled
|- 5:0:0:x  sdb  8:16   active ready running
|- 2:0:0:x  sdak 66:64  active ready running
`- 9:0:0:x  sdaz 67:48  active ready running

  • Reporting nodes on the affected LUNs shows as two reporting nodes instead of four nodes
  • lun mapping show -vserver [vserver name] -path [/vol/volname/lunname] -fields reporting-nodes command can be run to view the reporting nodes.

Affected Luns:

Vserver Name: SESKSVM26
              LUN Path: /vol/vol_1/lun_1
           [...]
              LUN Node: SESK00000000-08
       Reporting Nodes: SESK00000000-07, SESK00000000-08

Non-affected Luns:

Vserver Name: SESKSVM26
              LUN Path: /vol/vol_2/lun_2
           [...]
              LUN Node: SESK00000000-03
       Reporting Nodes: SESK00000000-03, SESK00000000-04, SESK00000000-05,
