FlexVol with a LUN is nearly full but the LUN size is much less than the size of the volume

Issue

A volume with a LUN is showing nearly full even though the size of the LUN is much smaller than the size of the volume:
 

Cluster::> lun show -v

                  Vserver Name: SVM1
                      LUN Path: /vol/vol1/lun1
                   Volume Name: vol1
                      LUN Name: lun1
                      LUN Size: 3TB
             Space Reservation: enabled
                     Used Size: 2.01TB
