Unable to create S3 immutable repository on Veeam backup due to no object lock on S3 bucket

Issue

  • While creating S3 immutable repository we are getting the Error creating S3 bucket "veeam" in SVM "svm0". 

Failed to create access policies for bucket "veeam"
Reason: "The following list of policy actions are not supported for S3 buckets with "-retention-mode" set to "no-lock"
Not getting "object lock" option while creating ONTAP S3 bucket.

  • No snaplock license present on the cluster which is required for ONTAP S3 object lock feature:

cluster::> license show -package SnapLock
  (system license show)
