Answer

Yes, ONTAP will issue a bucket.soft.limit.exceeded alert to EMS when a bucket reaches 90% of its capacity and further on 99% of its capacity.

Additional Information

  • S3 bucket utilization is managed through quota, we do not have any options to manage the quota threshold for Ontap S3 buckets.
  • For alert notifications on the bucket utilization setup event notification over email.
  • If monitoring ONTAP with Active IQ Unified Manager, you can subscribe to the EMS event type.
