Answer

  • Reason 1: Data access through the old session

To confirm the existing session:

::> cifs session show -vserver [vserver name] -address [client ip]

Example:

::> cifs session show -vserver svm1_ontap915 -address 10.128.242.11

     Node:    ontap915-01
     Vserver: svm1_ontap915
     Connection Session                                        Open         Idle      Connection
ID         ID      Workstation      Windows User         Files         Time           Count
     ---------- ------- ---------------- ---------------- --------- ------------ ---------------
     4145497515 15662675079064453123                                 21h 47m 15s               1
                        10.128.242.11    TSE\                     2
                                         Administrator

To close the existing session:
::>  cifs session close -node [node name] -vserver [vserver name] -session-id [session id] -connection-id [connection id]

  • Reason 2: Authentication through  ONTAP credential cache

ONTAP can keep the user account credential cache for 24 hours(86400 seconds) by defult.

Notes: If the cache needs to be cleared immediately, please contact NetApp Technical Support or log into the NetApp Support Site to create a case. Reference this article for assistance with the solution.
