  • Changing the OWNER of a file or folder has no impact on the DACLs of the file or folder
    • The OWNER can set permissions (File DACLs) on the file or folder even if the OWNER is not in the explicit DACLs

Changing the OWNER should always be done directly on the file or folder, not globally at the share level
