  • When a CIFS share is not deleted before deleting the corresponding volume, the CIFS share entry remains, but the path it points to no longer exists.
  • This can cause issues when users try to access the share from Windows, resulting in errors such as "Path not found" or "Access denied."

Additional Information

  • It is recommended to delete the CIFS share before deleting the corresponding volume to avoid orphaned shares and potential access issues.

Use the following command to delete the unavailiable CIFS share:

::> vserver cifs share delete -vserver <vserver_name> -share-name <share_name>
