Vscan cannot connect to McAfee Endpoint Security Storage Protection 2.1

Issue

  • After upgrading anti-virus software from McAfee VirusScan for Storage 1.3 to Mcafee Endpoint Protection for Storage 2.1,  Vscan engine is unable to handle requests.
  • Vscan privilege account is getting locked in AD when try to poll from AV Ontap connector console.
  • The following may be seen in the AV Connector log:
    • 01/01/22 Error 999999999 from VS_ScanRequest reqid 375
    • 01/01/22 VS_ScanCompletion: request id 375 of path \?\UNC\xxx_xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\ontap_admin$\volA\New folder\a.txt completed with status[999999999, VSENGINE_BUSY_TRY_AGAIN_LATER], str ''
  • And the following may be seen in the vscan event:
    • xxx xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 5/17/2022 05:25:27 scanner-busy \vol_share1\share-test\ xxx.xlsm trendmicro xxxxxx  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    • xxx xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 5/17/2022 02:49:23 scan-timedout \vol_share1\share-test\ xxx.xlsm trendmicro xxxxxx  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
