VMDK disc migration failing with error: File system timeout

Issue

While migrating VMDK files from one datastore to another (one ONTAP volume to another) the largest file fail to be copied. The following error can be seen in the vmware.log file:

2020-11-04T18:02:32.733Z| vmx| W115: Mirror: scsi1:1: Failed to copy disk: File system timeout (Ok to retry)
2020-11-04T18:02:32.748Z| vmx| I125: [msg.mirror.disk.copyfailed] Failed to copy source (/vmfs/volumes/eaa38a55-deaab554/Aspect-HDD (9187483e-9a9c-4ea5-8702-0163301829db)/Aspect-HDD (9187483e-9a9c-4ea5-8702-0163301829db)_2.vmdk) to destination (/vmfs/volumes/f435ffae-89bc24cb/Aspect-HDD (9187483e-9a9c-4ea5-8702-0163301829db)/Aspect-HDD (9187483e-9a9c-4ea5-8702-0163301829db)_2.vmdk): File system time out (Ok to retry).
