Issue

  • Linux clients running RHEL are unable to mount an NFS share hosted on a NetApp ONTAP system.
  • Mount attempts fail with errors similar to:
mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting <IP>:/<export_path>
  • After login, users may also encounter:
Could not chdir to home directory <path>: Input/output error
-bash: <path>/.bash_profile: Input/output error
