Issue

  • It is not possible to take ownership or change permissions (ACLs) on several files located on an NTFS volume after transitioning them from another system
  • Even a user with Builtin\Administrators (storage admin) rights cannot modify the permissions
  • Attempts to change ownership via Windows Explorer and PowerShell fails with access denied or error code 31
