  • No new ONTAP CIFS shares can be created from Microsoft Management Console (MMC)
  • Error on the Windows client:
The remote procedure call failed
  • error in MGWD log:
[kern_mgwd:info:3284] 0x82096d600: 0: ERR: tables::cifs_share_kern: shareCreate:src/tables/cifs/cifs_share_kern.cc:298 failed share create: You do not have a valid license for "CIFS". Reason: Package "CIFS" is not licensed in the cluster.
