Unable to configure backup application Cohesity to use Kerberos authentication

Issue

  • When a backup task is triggered on the Cohesity side, it errors out and uses NTLM
  • Error from Cohesity:
Backup task failed with error: [kFsError]: [1-12-1] Cohesity could not visit any entity successfully.
Please verify that the source is reachable from the cluster and Cohesity has the right access credentials: [kPermissionDenied] : Connection [idx: 6, creation_time_usecs: 0] to smb://XXXX;cohesity_svc@CIFS_SVM.XXX...Logon?sec=krb5 with encryption: true failed, async_response: false, error: gss_init_sec_context: (Unspecified GSS failure. Minor code may provide more information, SPNEGO)
