  • Unable to access shares by hostname when using a client that still belongs to the old domain.
  • Error message A device attached to the system is not functioning is seen on the client end.
  • Accessing the shares via the new cluster Data LIF IP works without any issues.
  • Applications using the old name for share access will fail due to the old name getting resolved to the old cluster IP.
  • Modifying the DNS record for the old name to point to the new cluster's data SVM LIF IP did not resolve the issue.
  • Accessing the share using an old short name also fails.
  • Restarting the clients and clearing the CIFS session did not resolve the issue, and the error persists.
