Unable to access CIFS shares post 7MTT migration due to incorrect share path

Issue

  • Users are unable to access CIFS shares after cutover from 7-Mode Transition Tool.
  • When trying to access the shares, users get: Windows cannot access \\xx.xx.xx\x Check the spelling of the spelling of the name otherwise there might be a problem with your network. Try to Identify and resolve network problem, click diagnose.

  • The same errors is seen when trying to access via IP address or FQDN.
  • The impacted users do have the correct permissions needed.
  • EMS logs:
