Unable to access CIFS share with a recently added security group

Issue

  • User is not able to access CIFS share as part of a recently created security group with all permissions to access that share
    • The user has domain admin privileges.
    • The security group was added to the Share with Full Control permissions.
    • Share is accessed via \\share and it asks for username and password continuously without being able to connect.
    • If instead of the security group, user is defined in the ACL, the Share is accessed from the Windows client successfully.
    • If the default group "Administrators of the domain" or "Users" . The connection to the share with the users that contain these groups is successful.
  • User has access to the share, if permissions given individually
