Issue

Users experienced significant performance issues and failures when accessing and opening SOLIDWORKS design files stored on a NetApp FlexCache setup, especially with files containing numerous linked components
 
  • SOLIDWORKS files with minimal linked components open successfully.
  • SOLIDWORKS files with hundreds to thousands of linked components:
    • Fail to open
    • Take excessive time (up to 24 hours)
  • Display error messages related to file access or timeout

    • 16 GB RAM
    • 4 vCPUs
    • Non-SSD storage (initially)
    • Mixed aggregates (SSD + NLSAS)
