Issue

  • After renewing the SSL/TLS certificate used by an ONTAP S3 object-store server, S3 clients fail to connect and report an error.
peeraddr=<IP>:443 state=error: certificate verify failed (hostname mismatch)
  • The error occurs during the TLS handshake when accessing the S3 endpoint using a fully qualified domain name (FQDN).
