New NFS mounts time out when ONTAP does not respond to the NULL call

Issue

  • The new NFS mount gets time-out, and the previous mount remains accessible
  • The client may report an input/output error or system call failed
  • A packet trace shows that ONTAP does not respond to the NULL call, however, it acknowledges the NULL call and subsequent keep-alive packets
  • BSD-NETSTAT-ANCEWCT from AUSP shows the affected clients' TCP connection in the CLOSED and CLOSE_WAIT state
  • Performance archive shows the node latency is pretty low
