NFS volume mounted on VMs are inaccessible when root volume is full

Issue

  • NFS LIFs are pingable but the VMs mounted on it are inaccessible.
  • Below errors are present in EMS logs:

[Node-04: vifmgr: rdb.env.IOFailure:alert]: Error encountered in root volume I/O: fsync /mroot/etc/cluster_config/rdb/VifMgr/_sql/rdb.db-wal returns SQL error 1034, errno 28 .
[Node-04: vifmgr: rdb.ha.synchronized:notice]:Entering HA-Normal:Synchronized with peer in a high-availability(HA)configuration.
[Node-04: vifmgr: vifmgr.dbase.checkerror:alert]: VIFMgr experienced an error verifying cluster database consistency. Some LIFs might not be hosted properly as a result.
[Node-04: vifmgr: vifmgr.startup.failover.err:alert]: VIFMgr encountered errors during startup.

  • Above error is accompanied with root volume full error:

[Node-04: wafl_spcd_main: monitor.volume.nearlyFull:error]: Volume vol0 is nearly full (using or reserving 95%% of space and 0%% of inodes).
[Node-04: wafl_spcd_main: monitor.volume.full:debug]: Volume vol0 is full (using or reserving 98% of space and 0% of inodes).
