NFS operations on NTFS volume goes into hung state due to name mapping failure

Issue

  • When performing "cd" or "ls" command on volume path, client goes in to hung state.
  • EMS reports vserver unable to contact DNS to discover domain controllers resulting in name mapping failure.
3/13/2023 node1    ERROR  secd.nfsAuth.problem: vserver (svm1) General NFS authorization problem. Error: Get user credentials procedure failed
[  0 ms] Determined UNIX id 0 is UNIX user 'root'
[     0] Mapping Successful for Unix-user 'root' to Windows user 'Domain\root' at position 9
**[  3010] FAILURE: Unable to contact DNS to discover domain controllers.
[  3010] Unable to make a connection (LSA:Domain), result: 6812
[  3010] Could not find Windows name 'Domain\root'
[  3010] Name mapping for UNIX user 'root' failed with transient errors.
