Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • CIFS

Issue

  • When the account used to access a CIFS share allows change permissions on that share and the client attempts to open a file with the right to change permissions, access is denied
  • The client may try to open the same file multiple times with different types of access until access is granted based on the cifs share ACL
  • This behavior could cause a latency to be observed when many files are opened in same manner
