Issue

  • Kubernetes clients (using Trident CSI) are unable to write data to NFS-mounted Persistent Volume Claims (PVCs). The volumes mount successfully, directories can be listed, and new files/directories can be created, but writing data to files or reading their contents hangs or fails for both root and non-root users
  • NFS server had pnfs enabled, and packet trace showed that ONTAP was failing to return the layout.
  • Packet traces show ONTAP fails to return the pNFS layout.
