Answer

  • For ONTAP 9.13.1 and lower, FPolicy for CIFS is not supported on a FlexCache Volume
  • For ONTAP 9.14.1 and higher, FPolicy for CIFS is supported on a FlexCache Volume

Additional Information

  • Documentation currently states that FPolicy is supported on FlexCache Volumes, this is only for NFSv3 and not for CIFS    
  • The FPolicy scope is limited to an extension limit of 20KB
    • This applies only to the configuration on the cache vserver
    • This is between 5120 and 20480 characters
