Files are deleted by delete on close and waiting for someone close the files but it is not shown on locks shows

Issue

  • Files are deleted by Delete-on-Close, but files are still shown by CIFS accessing due to someone opening the file and never closing it.
  • Files is not accessible.
  • ONTAP send back the NT_status error STATUS_DELETE_PENDING.
  • By the command vserver locks show, there are no locks showing who is opening & locking those files.
  • In certain environments, files may appear to have been successfully deleted, but they reappear shortly afterward.
  • It is not possible to overwrite the folder containing the file using another folder with the same name.
  • When attempting to delete the file via ONTAP System Manager, a "Permission Denied" error is displayed, and the file cannot be removed.
