Filenames with backslash are changed when accessed via Windows client
Applies to
- ONTAP 9
- CIFS
Issue
- After uploading files to a NetApp system via FTP (Linux server using NFS), filenames that contain a backslash character (“\”) are changed when accessing via CIFS/SMB (from Windows)
- This result in files appearing with unexpected names or inaccessibility from Windows clients
Example:
Original file name: csv\file1_11111_22222_33333_44444_55555.csv
Changed file name: csvfil~1.csv
