  • The following error message is reported in EMS log: 

ERROR         Nblade.cifsShrConnectFailed: vserverName="SVM1", vserverId="4", errorDescription="Path was incompletely processed other than because of encountering a symbolic link, junction, data set root, or export point", errorCode="257", shareName="NAME", serverIp="x.x.x.x", clientIp="x.x.x.x"

  •  Versions prior to ONTAP 9.3 does not list the error description: 

ERROR  Nblade.cifsShrConnectFailed: vserverId="4", errorCode="257", shareName="NAME", serverIp="x.x.x.x", 
clientIp="x.x.x.x"
